Thee crime of the 20th century? Certainly one of them. Another is the great secrecy dome over this planet. There's certainly other stuff out there that seems so secret they wouldn't give it up for the planet's survival.
Hard to believe but many enterprising inventors are catching up with the secrets. But the free market in this area is no longer free. If inventors duplicate or even come close to these secrets they face classification of there inventions in the name of public security and the inventor receives nothing except, go away. This covet type thinking is dividing us. It's like, the world was a better place when governments didn't have so many secrets to hide.
