To continue on one of the worst songs ever written, When the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie, that’s amoray….
This link leads to a photo of the earth during a total eclipse. Note that the moon does not shadow the entire earth, only a certain small area but the shadow travels at about 2000kph across its path which gives view of the total eclipse to many areas.
That’s Amore, a big hit by Dean Martin, early sixties, I think.
The satellite that took the pic was obviously quite close to the earth but the moon shadow seems so small. Stupid question, why? So Far Away, Carol King?

Gives us some idea of the distance between the sun and the moon.
It also gives us some idea of just how small the moon is compared to the sun.
